Microsoft has integrated a tool called Detect and Repair in MS Office XP, Office 2003, and Office 2007 with which you can easily avoid corruption problem in documents of MS Office. This tool can easily repair the .ppt file, .xls file, .doc file, and .mdb file. Repair depends on the Office application from where you launch the tool suppose you want to repair the corrupt MS Access database then you need to launch the tool within MS Access.

How to launch the Detect and Repair Tool

In MS Access XP and MS Access 2003 the tool can be accessed by selecting Help > Detect and Repair option. But to access this tool in MS Office 2007, you need to follow some steps:
  1. Start MS Access 2007.
  2. Select the MS Access button and click the PowerPoint options button.
  3. Select the Resource Tab.
  4. Press the Diagnose button.
After launching this tool you need to start this tool and for this you can follow the onscreen instructions using the MS Access application.
